The FUSION-OZ10 is designed for use within commercial kitchen extract systems to help reduce cooking odours before extracted air is discharged to atmosphere.

 

The unit produces ozone (O₃), which reacts with odorous compounds within the extract airstream to assist with odour reduction.

 

The FUSION-OZ10 is intended for professional commercial kitchen ventilation applications and should be installed as part of a correctly designed extract and odour-control system.

Typical Installation Position

 

The FUSION-OZ10 should be installed in connection with the commercial kitchen extract ductwork.

The unit must be located upstream of the extract fan, on the negative-pressure or suction side of the system.

 

When the extract fan operates and sufficient negative pressure is created within the ductwork, the unit's airflow sensing system allows ozone generation to operate.

 

The FUSION-OZ10 should always be used together with suitable commercial kitchen grease filtration and pre-filtration.

 

Ductwork Connection

 

The FUSION-OZ10 uses a:

150mm diameter galvanised metal duct connection

Rigid galvanised ductwork should be used between the ozone unit and the main kitchen extract duct.

 

The duct connection must be secure, airtight and correctly installed.

 

Air must travel from the FUSION-OZ10 air inlet into the kitchen extract duct.

 

The unit must never be operated with airflow travelling in the opposite direction.

 

The adjustable inlet vent can be used to regulate airflow through the unit.

 

Sufficient airflow must be maintained to activate the unit's airflow sensor.

Dwell Time

 

For effective odour treatment, sufficient duct length and dwell time must be provided after ozone introduction.

 

As a general installation requirement, approximately:

 

12 metres of extract ductwork should be provided downstream of the ozone injection point where practicable.

 

System airflow, duct dimensions, cooking duty and odour-control requirements should all be considered when designing the system.

 

Installation Requirements

 

The unit should be positioned close to the kitchen extract ductwork while maintaining suitable access for servicing and maintenance.

 

The installation must ensure:

 

The unit is installed on the suction side of the fan

All ductwork is airtight and free from holes or leaks

Adequate airflow passes through the FUSION-OZ10

 

The extract termination is suitably positioned away from windows, fresh-air intakes and other sensitive receptors

 

The system has adequate downstream duct length for ozone treatment

 

Suitable grease and pre-filtration is installed upstream

 

The unit remains accessible for inspection and servicing

 

Professional commissioning is recommended following installation.

 

Important Ozone Safety Information

 

WARNING — THIS PRODUCT GENERATES OZONE (O₃).

 

Ozone is a powerful oxidising gas and must not be allowed to accumulate within occupied areas.

Exposure to excessive ozone concentrations may cause:

Dryness of the mouth

Coughing

Irritation of the nose, throat and chest

Breathing difficulties

Headaches

Fatigue

Aggravation of existing respiratory conditions including asthma

Ozone has a distinctive sharp smell and can normally be detected at relatively low concentrations.

 

If ozone can be smelt within the kitchen, building or occupied area:

 

Switch off the ozone unit immediately and investigate the extract system before further operation.

The kitchen extract ductwork must be properly sealed and maintained to prevent ozone leakage.

Discharge Location

 

Particular care must be taken when positioning the kitchen extract termination.

The discharge point should not be located where ozone-containing exhaust air could be drawn back into:

 

Windows

Doors

Fresh-air ventilation intakes

Air-conditioning intakes

Neighbouring buildings

Other occupied areas

The complete extract system should be designed in accordance with the requirements of the site, local authority and relevant ventilation guidance.

Intended Use

 

The FUSION-OZ10 is intended exclusively for the treatment of odours generated by typical commercial kitchen cooking processes.

It should not be used for applications outside its intended commercial kitchen ventilation purpose.

Installation, maintenance and repair should only be carried out by appropriately trained and competent engineers.

 

Maintenance

 

Regular inspection and maintenance are essential to ensure safe and effective operation.

The unit should be kept accessible at all times for:

Cleaning

Servicing

Airflow checks

Safety checks

Component replacement

All safety devices, labels and warning notices must remain fitted, visible and legible throughout the working life of the product.

Unauthorised modification of the FUSION-OZ10 is not permitted.
